E-Commerce Regulation Valid From 1 April 2019

Jakarta, 15/01/2019 MoF - Online traders to remain calm about the issuance of Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 210/PMK.010/2018 concerning Tax Treatment of Trade Transactions through Electronic Systems (e-commerce) because this Regulation comes into effect April 1st, 2019.
Before the effective period of regulation implementation, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) will carry out outreach to e-commerce actors, including providers of platform marketplace and traders who use the platform.
Platform marketplace providers are those who provide facilities that function as electronic markets where platform users and service providers can offer goods and services to prospective buyers.
Known marketplace platform providers in Indonesia among others are Blibli, Bukalapak, Elevenia, Lazada, Shopee, and Tokopedia. In addition to these companies, over the top players in the transportation sector are also classified as the provider of the marketplace platform.
Business players that carry out trade in goods and services through online retail, classified ads, daily deals, and social media must comply with the provisions relating to VAT, PPnBM and PPh in accordance with applicable regulations.
