Kutuh Village Manages Village Funds for Sports Tourism

Bali, 21/05/2019 Ministry of Finance - President Joko Widodo inspected the development of a soccer field in Kutuh Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, Friday (17/05). The soccer field built from the Village Fund will be the center of sport tourism in Kutuh Village.

"In Kutuh Village, the concept is sport tourism, for example renting out soccer fields for training, international competitions. This year alone can generate Rp800 million," he said as quoted from the website of the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendesa).

According to him, Kutuh Village is an example of a village that has succeeded in utilizing village funds to develop the economy and prosper the village community. He suggested that other villages that have similar characteristics to Kutuh Village can duplicate the concept that the village has developed.

"This concept can be copied elsewhere that has similarities, whether in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, related models, the success of a village fund management management for the benefit of the community. This (Kutuh Village) is one of the villages that has successfully utilized the Village Fund for the welfare of its community," he said.

On the other hand, the Village Minister, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, Eko Putro Sandjojo stated that this soccer field built in the Mount Payung tourist area of Kutuh Village will be used for the Badung International Football Championship (Badung-IFC) event. This match will involve 100 teams and 2,500 players / officials from 13 countries namely Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Australia, China, Uzbekistan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Senegal.

"This soccer field will be used for several international events. Because in Badung there will be an international football event in the near future. It is estimated that it can generate Rp7 Billion per month. In addition, homestays can also be used for athletes lodging, women can also sell something such as meals or souvenirs," he stated. (nr/ds)
