Ambon, 09/01/2019 Ministry of Finance - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati had a working visit to Ambon, Maluku. In her visit, the Minister of Finance announced officially the Arrangement of the Tawiri Wharf Area and the Coastal Revitalization Project and the Wainitu Zone Arrangement on Wednesday (01/09).
Funds for the Tawiri wharf is funded by the Government Islamic Securities (SBSN). The government allocated a total SBSN fund of Rp130 ​​billion in two budget years, namely Rp20 billion for 2016 and Rp110 billion for 2017.
"Today we can see projects that are multiyears and it is successful. It is expected to strengthen Navy defense, especially in the eastern region of Indonesia. It is also can make the area around Tawiri Beach more beautiful," explained Minister of Finance in her speech.
The construction of the Pier in Tawiri to replace the Navy pier in Halong Village had to be moved because the Navy warship could not dock after the construction of the Merah Putih Bridge.
The previous pier was at the upstream Merah Putih Bridge. With the construction of a new dock area, now the wharf becomes a complex with offices, officers' dormitories, Bintara and Tamtama equipped with furniture, including water installations and other facilities.
In addition to launch the Tawiri Wharf, the Minister of Finance also launched the Wainitu Coastal Revitalization and Regional Planning Project. According to her, coastal revitalization and arrangement of the Wainitu area are important to strengthen the economy in Ambon city. This project is a form of the Government's commitment to develop from the outermost areas.
"With the facilities built by the Government, I hope that export and import activities can be increased. We are ready to work together to provide the fiscal instruments needed. Whether in the construction of bonded zones, subsidies for entrepreneurs to be able to invest, I will be ready to help to improve the economy in Maluku, especially for regions that are least developed," said the Minister.
The inauguration of the two projects was also attended by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Maluku Governor Said Assagaff, Maluku Deputy Governor Zeth Sahuburua, Director General of Highways Sugiyartanto, and Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning of Maluku Province Ismail Usemahu.
