KPPBC Medan Thwarted Prohibited Goods and Restriction without License

Jakarta, 17/1/2013 MoF (Fiscal) News - Medium Customs Office (KPPBC TMP) B of Medan held press conference on Enforcement Action towards Prohibited Goods and Restriction on Friday. This action was conducted over a prohibited goods and restriction on goods entering Indonesia’s custom area through Post Office Lalu Bea Medan and Polonia International Airport Medan without necessary permission from relevant technical institution.

The goods, which consisted of 6 (six) units of airsoft gun, 47 (fourty-seven) spare parts, and 10 (sepuluh) pieces of high power stun gun, were seized because they did not have permission from the Indonesian National Police (POLRI). Other goods were medicines and supplements consisting of 1,310 bottles (containing 58.462 capsules), 1,398 sachet packaging, and 405 bottles (6,150ml in total), which were seized due to the absence of permission from National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM). Officers also thwarted 135 (one hundred and thirty-five) units of Blackberry, which have no permission from Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo), and 3 (three) sex toys, which violate Pornography Law.

This enforcement aims to improve order, particularly on the imported goods license entering Indonesia’s custom area, and minimize the number of goods without official license for entering Indonesia, as one of the functions of Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) is as a community protector, which protects public.
